Both of my children were born in June. One is grown and lives in Maine, so I only get to photograph the other one now. While he is loosing interest in being The Most Photographed Kid in South Jersey ™, he still will participate a few times a year. Birthday photos are always a must. I try to make them fun and creative, though!
Over the years, I've collected a few more June 2014 babies to my collection, and I don't mean that in a creepy way. We've just met some awesome people who just happened to be born the same month and year as Grayson. The first is Miss P. I actually met her mom in a pregnancy group. That means G and P have been BFFs since they first met outside the womb at 6 weeks, when Phoebe tried to eat Grayson's head in their first ever photo.
A few years later, we added Laura. G and Laura met at preschool, went to Kindergarten together, and then I babysat her during shutdown. Grayson and Laura share the same passion for swimming, Minecraft, and axolotls.
We've done just at a park, a studio Minecraft theme, and the beach before, but I wanted to do something interactive and fun this year. I don't remember what sparked this idea, but I think it started as a glitter session. It morphed to confetti because it's easier to clean and better for the environment though - plus it's so colorful! The umbrella was a last minute addition. I knew I needed it as soon as I saw it at Target, and I think it fit right in with this setup! So, I guess you can call this "It's Raining Confetti?"
Cleanup took a bit, but I think it was worth it! Even Miss P's little sister got in on the fun!
