Late last year, I saw the cutest teal stool at a craft store. I knew as soon as I spotted it that it needed to be photographed on a bright pink backdrop. I let this idea soak for a while - a little too long as the store no longer carried the stool when I went to buy it! I did eventually put everything together and find some models to make my vision come to life!
This is the session that made me fall in love with solid backdrops. I had been using plain white for a long time, but this bright pink made my brain sing! Sure I have some printed backdrops, but I'd be happy photographing on only solids from now on! They add drama without taking away from the most important thing, the subject.
Going back to the stool, though, I found this one online for half the price of the one at the craft store, and I ended up liking this one better! It coordinated with the pink and the candy while still standing out. This was everything I hoped they'd be, everything I had been thinking about for months!
